Press SET.
•The system assigns tracks to both sides of the tape and
displays the results.
•The time remaining on both sides of the tape appears on
the display.

Tracks to be recorded on both sides
To confirm the time remaining and the tracks to be recorded
on tape side A, press CD EDIT. Each time you press this
button, the display will change as follows:
1. The time remaining and the tracks to be recorded on tape
side A
2. The time remaining and the tracks to be recorded on tape
side B
3. The time remaining and the tracks to be recorded on both
sides of the tape
9 Press the CD play button for automatic re
cording.
The compact disc player automatically scans for the peak
(highest) level of the entire disc (ATLS; see right.) and then
recording will start.
When edit-recording has finished, the cassette deck automati
cally enters the recording standby mode.
If you want to change something you have set, or if an error has
occurred, press the cancel button.
The system will return to the previous setting mode,
■ About Automatic Tape Level Setting (ATLS)
Since compact discs generally have a wide dynamic range, care
fully setting of the record level is required to achieve the best
recording results.
This system automatically scans (fast search) for the peak (highest)
level of the entire disc, and the tape deck set the appropriate
recording level. During this period, the peak level sound will not be
heard.
■ To cancel album edit-recording
(Also available from the remote control)
Press the CD stop button twice.
CLEAR will appear on the display.
■ To record with straight sound tone
Please complete the next steps.
• Press EQ ON/FLAT on the amplifier section to light the EQ FLAT
indicator.
• Press SURROUND to disappear the SURROUND indicator.
•Press KARAOKE to disappear the KARAOKE indicator.
■ To record with desired tone
You can make a recording with the equalizer effect.
When playing back such recordings, press EQ ON/FLAT on the
amplifier section to set "EQ FLAT”.
