Basic
a moment. This function allows easy
adjustment of focus and the recorded
picture will not be affected.
Be careful not to move the camera when
you press the shutter button.
Do not cover the photo ash or the AF
assist lamp with your nger or other objects.
Do not touch the lens.
You cannot use the following functions.
Exposure compensation
Auto bracket
Digital zoom
Flash (P39)
You can select the setting of ash among
AUTO [r], Auto/Red-eye reduction
[s] or Forced FLASH OFF [v].
The Backlight Compensation
(Intelligent mode [ ] only)
Press e to compensate that backlight
cause the subject to appear dark. (Press
again to cancel.)
This icon appears when you are
using backlight compensation.

Standard settings of Intelligent mode
[ ] (Fixed)
Quality: Fine (when the picture size is
0.3M: Standard)
WHITE BALANCE: AWB
SENSITIVITY: INTELLIGENT ISO
AF MODE: 5-area-focusing
QUICK AF: ON
AF ASSIST LAMP: ON
POWER SAVE: 5 MIN.
SELFTIMER: [OFF] or [10SEC.] is only
selectable.
Change the setting
Press [MENU/SET] to set the following
recording menu, setup menu. Refer to
each corresponding page for the details on
each mode.

The available settings differ from the
other recording modes.
The settings for above mentioned
recording menu (except [BURST]) are
effective only for Intelligent mode [ ].
The SETUP menu settings are applied in
all modes.

Using [Q.MENU] and the cursor button,
you can easily make the following settings.
