Glossary
ASCII: ASCIIis an acronym forAmerican Standard Code for Information
Interchange. In ASCII, each character has a unique code.

Byte:
BASIC is a commonly used microcomputer programming language.
Baud is a unit of data transmission speed between computer devices. Can
be but not necessarily equal to bits per second.
Bit: Bit is an abbreviation forbinary digit (0-1)”, and is the smallest unit of
information used by a printer for computer.
Bitmap font is composed with symbols which contains fixed characters
size and shape. This printer has another font: outline font (Intellifont
Scalable Typeface).
Buffer is an area of memory which stores data temporarily.
Byte is the unit of information used by a printer or computer. One byte
is equivalent to eight (8) bits.
Configurstion: Configuration is a process for your computer to communicate properly
with the printer.
CR (Carriage Return): “CRis a control code that returns the printing position to the left margin
of the current line.
Defaults: Default has two meanings: one indicates the previously set conditions or
setting executed when the power is turned on, reset or initialized; and the
other indicates the original settings when shipped from the factory (FAC
TORY settings).
Downloading: Downloading means to transfer data from your computer to the printer.
Emulation: Emulation means to operate like another printer.
This printer can emulate the following printers: HP LaserJet Series III,
IBM Proprinter II and Diablo 630.
