Problem Check points
The remote control does
not function.
The button-type battery of the remote control may be run
out. Replace it with a new button-type battery. (l 17)
The remaining time
indication or the elapsed
time indication is not
shown.
If you set [SETUP] > [DISPLAY] > [OFF], all indications
other than warnings and date are not displayed.
Recording does not start
although power is
supplied to this unit and
the SD card is correctly
inserted.
Rotate the mode dial to select or .
No recording is possible while the SD card’s write protect
switch is set to LOCK. (l 22)
If there is no more available memory of the SD card or
HDD, free up some memory by deleting unnecessary
scenes or use a new SD card. (l 23, 72)
If the SD card cover is open, this unit may not operate
normally. Close the SD card cover.
The unit arbitrarily stops
recording.
Use an SD card that can be used for motion picture
recording. (l 22)
If [AGS] is [ON], record in the normal horizontal position or
set [AGS] to [OFF]. (l 35)
If the unit is exposed to strong vibrations or shocks while
recording on HDD, recording may stop to protect the HDD.
Recording starts but
stops immediately.
The unit is disabled if the temperature is too high. Turn off
the power of the unit and wait until the unit cools down.
Colour balance of images
is strange when
recording in a place such
as a gymnasium.
In a place with multiple light sources, such as a gymnasium
or a hall, the auto white balance function may not operate
properly. In this case, adjust the white balance setting
manually. (l 61)
Auto focus function does
not work.
Set the AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS switch to AUTO.
If you are trying to record a scene which is hard to bring into
focus in auto focus mode, use the manual focus mode to
adjust the focus. (l 60, 127)
Recorded still pictures
are not clear.
If you are trying to record small or finely detailed objects
with [PICT.QUALITY] set at [ ], the images may break up
into a mosaic-like pattern. Record with [PICT.QUALITY] set
at [ ] instead. (l 43)
