Initial settings
■ Setting on screen DISPLAY
Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select DISPLAY menu .
Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select each item and press ENTER button.

Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select SOUND menu .
Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select each item and press ENTER button.

POS 1: GUI appear at the top of the screen.
POS 2: GUI appear lower on the screen.
This is used to turn the display of functions like "PLAY" and
"STOP" on or off.
ON: Functions are displayed on the screen.
OFF: Functions are not displayed on the screen.
Digital audio output setting
• This is for selecting the type of digital audio signal output
from the optical digital audio output terminal.
OFF: For analogue connection of audio output.
BITSTREAM: When connecting with digital equipment with a
built-in Dolby digital decoder or DTS decoder or
MPEG decoder.
LPCM: When connecting with digital equipment without a built-
in Dolby digital decoder or DTS decoder or MPEG
decoder.
When playing back a DVD recorded at LPCM 96 kHz, perform
analogue connection "OFF". Optical digital output is not
compatible in this case. (When "BITSTREAM" or "LPCM" is
selected, downsampling to 48 kHz is done for both optical
digital output and analogue output.)
CAUTION:
• When performing digital connection with equipment without
a built-in Dolby digital decoder or DTS decoder or MPEG
decorder, be sure to set to "LPCM".
• If setting is not done correctly, noise will be generated, and
this may hurt your ears or damage speakers.
