Power save mode
To conserve energy and operating cost, this printer is provided with a programmable
power save feature. The printer is factory set with the power save feature turned on to
comply with E
NERGY
S
TAR
®
requirement. If power saving is enabled, the printer enters
the Power Save mode when the printer is idle for 2 minutes.
Auto continues
With this feature turned on, the printer automatically continues the current print job in the
case of certain non-fatal errors.
Page Protection
With this feature turned on, the printer does not begin printing until the processor has
finished imaging the entire page. The page then prints correctly, although it takes slightly
longer to print.
Selecting Auto menu analyzes each page. If a page is complex, page protection in turned
on automatically.
I/O timeout setting
Automatically prints the remaining data in memory when the computer does not send
data to the printer during the set time.
Printer Emulation
Upgrade Kit (for PostScript) is installed in the printer, it enables to select PCL or
PostScript to print data.
Auto
:PCL or PostScript is Automatically selected depending on the print data.
PCL
:PCL is selected for printing.
NOTE
If a memory overflow error occurs when printing data in PCL, select PCL for the Printer
Emulation.
Language
Selects the language when printing the configuration page [see “Tool Menus (Tool Bar
Icons)” on page 27].
