BATTERY

• II rechargeabts batteries are to be used, recharge

able batteries manufactured by Panasonic are

recommended.

• Align the poles (0 arrd 0) property when insert

ing the batteries.

of batteries.

• Oor>ot recharge ordinary dry celt batteries.

• Remove the batteries if the unit is not to be used

for a long time.

•Do not use the batteries il the covering has been

peeled off.

Mishandling of batteries can cause electrolyle leak

may cause a lire.

If electrolyte teaks from the batteries, consult your

dealer.

Wash thoroughly with water il electrolyte comes in

contact with any pan of your body.

Battery condition indicator

The indicator is shown whenever the radio is on or

a tape is traveling.

•When you Stan a tape or radio reception, the indi

cator scrolls 2 times before it lights.

•When you press [ВАТТ CHECK] in the stop

mode, the indicator scrolls 2 times and lights for

about 5 seconds.

When the battery Is weak

The indicator will Hash and then;

•Leaving the unit in this condition erases the con

tents of the memory.

Replacing the batteries within 30 seconds will re

tain any stored information.

•Avoid using or placirig this unit near sources ol

heat. Do not leave it in an automobile exposed to

direct sunlight lor a tong period ol time with doors

and virindows dosed.

•To avoid product damage, do not expose this

product to rain, water or other liquids.

used under water.

Please note the following points to avoid possible

damage to the unit or the headphones.

• If the unit or the headphones get wet with water or

sweat, dry them with a soft cloth.

• Do not open the cassette holder near water or

sand.

• Make sure there Is no sand or dust around the

cassette holder.

•Do not expose the unit or the headphones to salt

water.

•Since water in the headphones jack may cause

damage, cover it with attached rubber cap when

the headphones are not in use.

•Do not leave the unit and the headphones lor a

long period of time In high temperature and high

humidity areas such as bathrooms or damp base

ments, etc.

•To prevent water Irom entering the cassette com

partment, be sure to turn [OPEN LOCK) until it

locks the cassette holder closed.

Listening caution

Do rtot play your headphones or eaqthones at a

high volume. Hearing experts advise against contin

uous extended play.

ume or discontinue use.

Do rtot use while operating a motorized vehicte. It

may create a traffic hazard and is illegal in many

sounds, don’t turn up the volume so high that you

Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing

"comfort lever adapts to higher volumes ol sound.

So what sounds "normaf can actually be loud and

harmful to your hearing.

Guard against this by setting your equipment at a

sale level BEFORE your hearing adapts.

To establish a safe level:

• Start your volume control at a low setting.

• Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it

comfortably and clearly, and without distortion.

Once you have established a comfortable sound

level:

• Set the dial end leave il there.

To cleen this unit, wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

clipped in a soap-and-water solution or a weak de

tergent solution.
