Connect the P2 drive to the personal
computer with a IEEE1394b cable.
<Notes>

supplied with the P2 drive
in the package. Use a
commercially available
IEEE1394b cable.
z Do not apply force when
connecting IEEE1394b
cable to IEEE1394b
connector as this may
damage the connector.

1394b - 6-pin type 1394a
converter cables, check the
shape of the terminal
before connecting the 6-pin
connector to the unit (PC).
Connecting a connector
upside down may damage the parts inside
the unit and cause malfunctioning.
6 Verify that the personal computer recognises
the P2 drive.
<Notes>
z In Windows XP or Windows Vista, some
card slots of the P2 drive may be assigned
drive names that have already been
assigned to existing networks. Reassign
network drive names if your personal
computer does not display all five card
slots.
