R The handset has lost communication with the base unit. Move
closer to the base unit and try again.

the adaptor and try again.
R The handset’s registration may have been cancelled. Re-register
the handset (page 37).

he supplied telephone line cord has not been connected yet or
not connected properly. Check the connections (page 10).
Error

ecording was too short. Try again.
Memory Full

he phonebook memory is full. Erase unwanted entries (page 25).
R The call block list memory is full. Erase unwanted entries
(page 23).
Use

battery.

wrong type of battery such as alkaline or manganese was
inserted. Use only the rechargeable Ni-MH batteries noted on

Troubleshooting
I
f you still have difficulties after following the instructions in this section, disconnect the base unit’s AC
adaptor, then reconnect the base unit’s AC adaptor. Remove the batteries from the handset, and then
insert them into the handset again.
If the base unit batteries for power backup are installed, remove the batteries from the base unit, and
then insert them into the base unit again.
General use

The handset does not turn on

R Place the handset on the charger to turn on the handset.
The unit does not work. R M
ake sure the batteries are installed correctly (page 10).
R Fully charge the batteries (page 11).
R Check the connections (page 10).
R Unplug the base unit’s AC adaptor and remove the batteries from
the handset to reset the unit. Reconnect the adaptor, insert the
batteries into the handset and try again.
R The handset has not been registered to the base unit. Register
the handset (page 37).
The handset display is blank. R T
he handset is not turned on. Turn the power on (page 15).
