The radio

Preset channels to make selection simpler. Up to 15 stations can each be preset in the FM and AM bands.

1 Tune to the frequency where presetting is to begin.

(⇒ see above)

2 Press and hold.

• “AUTO MEMORY” starts flashing.

• The tuner presets the stations it can receive into the channels in

ascending order. When finished, “SET OK” appears and the last

station to be preset is played.

1 Tune to the desired station. (⇒ see above)

2 Press.

“PGM” appears.

3 Within 10 seconds:

Select the channel.

The station occupying a channel is erased if another station is preset

in that channel.

1 Press [TUNER/AUX] to select “FM” or “AM”.

2 Press [PLAY MODE, –REPEAT] to select “PRESET”.

3 Press the numbered buttons or [u2/REW] or [i1/FF] to select

the channel.

1 Select “FM” or “AM”.

2 Select “MANUAL”.

3 Select the frequency of the desired

station.

4 Adjust the volume.

• Press and hold [u 2/REW] or [i 1/FF] until the

frequency starts scrolling to start automatic tuning.

Tuning stops when a station is found.

• “STEREO” is displayed when a stereo FM broadcast

is being received.

■ If noise is excessive in FM

Press and hold [PLAY MODE, –REPEAT] to display

“MONO”.

To cancel, press and hold [PLAY MODE, –REPEAT]

again. The mode also cancels when you change the

frequency.

■ FM frequency step (main unit only)

You can change the frequency step (0.2 MHz or

0.1 MHz).

1. Select “FM”.

2. Press and hold [TUNER/AUX] on the main unit.

After a few seconds, “FM” starts flashing on the dis-

play. Continue to hold the button down. The mini-

mum frequency changes and the step is changed.

• To return to the original step, repeat the above

steps.

• Any preset stations are cleared by this procedure.

Preset them again.

■ AM frequency step (main unit only)

You can change the frequency step (9 kHz or 10 kHz).

1. Select “AM”.

2. Press and hold [TUNER/AUX] on the main unit.

After a few seconds, “AM” starts flashing on the dis-

play. Continue to hold the button down. The mini-

mum frequency changes and the step is changed.

• To return to the original step, repeat the above

steps.

• Any preset stations are cleared by this procedure.

Preset them again.

■ RDS broadcasting

The unit can display the text data transmitted by the

radio data system (RDS) available in some areas.

Displaying the text data, the name of a

broadcasting station and a program type.

Note

RDS displays may not be available if reception is poor.
