A process that allows play on compatible equipment.
It may not be possible to play the above discs in all cases due to the type of disc or condition of the recording.
Note about using a DualDisc
The digital audio content side of a DualDisc does not meet the technical specifications of the Compact Disc Digital Audio (CD-DA) format so play may
not be possible.
You can use SD Memory Cards with the following capacities (from 8 MB
to 1 GB).

If the SD Memory Card is formatted on other equipment, the time spent
for recording may become longer. Also if the SD Memory Card is
formatted on a PC, you may not be able to use it on this unit.
In these cases, format the card on this unit.
This unit supports SD Memory Cards formatted in FAT12 system and
FAT16 system based on SD Memory Card Specifications.
The product numbers are correct as of February 2005.
This unit records data to SD card in SD Audio Format*. This format incor-
porates CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media) technology.
*This is an audio standard for SD Memory cards from the SD association.
n Regarding music protection
SD cards incorporate secure digital music initiative (SDMI) standard copy-
right protection technology. This uses encryption technology to protect
copyrights, to ensure the healthy development of music culture and to pro-
tect the rights of valid purchasers.
This unit records music data in encrypted form. Encrypted data cannot
be moved/copied to other equipment for use.
This unit cannot back up or restore music data recorded in encrypted
form.
Use Panasonic SD-Jukebox software (included) to move data contained
in the SD card.
You may not be able to use a SD card containing copy limitation
information.
n Limitations on digital recording
Digital recording from CD to SD is limited by SCMS (serial copy manage-
ment system). You can record digitally from CD to SD with little signal
degradation on this unit. However, you cannot record digitally from a CD
that is protected by SCMS.
Analogue recordings are not affected.
