Recording images (basic)

Using the Optical Zoom

With this function, you can make people and

subjects closer with the 12 times optical

zoom, and landscapes can be captured in

wide angle.

[Preparation]

• Set the mode dial except for [ ]. (P25)

Aim the camera at the subject and

adjust the size with the zoom lever.

To make subjects closer (Tele):

Rotate towards T.

To make subjects wider (Wide angle):

Rotate towards W.

Take a picture.

• The recording method is the same as in

“Taking Pictures”. (P28)

• The focus is adjusted at a distance of more than

3.94 feet (120 cm) (Tele)/0.98 feet (30 cm)

(Wide). For details on simple mode/macro mode,

read P30/P44.

• The picture may be slightly distorted according to

the lens. The distortion will increase as you make

subjects wider and closer.
