Before requesting service
No function possible.
The unit is switched on but cannot be used.
The error code «H », «U »
or «F » appears:
The unit automatically switches to standby
mode.
No picture.
Television reception worsens when the unit
is connected.
The picture is not set correctly.
The picture flickers.
No on-screen messages.
î Check the power supply connection.
î One of the unit's security devices may have been activated.
Press /I to switch the unit on.
î Check the connection to the television set, e.g. AV1.
î Check the aerial connection. You may need to use a signal amplifier.
î Adjust the picture. Read the operating instructions for the television.
î There is a malfunction. The numbers following the letter «H» indicate the condition of the unit.

Switch the unit to standby /I. If the unit does not switch to standby mode, press and hold
/I for approx. 10 seconds or unplug it from the power supply for approx. one minute and
reconnect the cable.

Press /I to switch the unit on.
If the malfunction is not eliminated after this, contact customer service and provide the
code that is displayed.
No sound/
Volume set to quiet/
Distorted sound.
It is not possible to hear the desired sound
type.
The sound cannot be set for stereo or
NICAM broadcasts.
î Check the connections.
î If you have connected an amplifier, check its input mode.
î Switch off th ction if it causes problems.e V.S.S. fun
î Press AUDIO to select the desired sound type.
î Change the appropriate setting in the Sound SETUP menu.
î Connect external devices with audio cables even if you use a digital connection.
î You cannot change the sound type when using DVD-R/-RW(V)/+R.
î Change the [On-Screen Messages] setting in the Display SETUP menu.
î Check the [TV Aspect] setting in the Connection SETUP menu.
