[RAM] [-R] [-R]DL] [-RW‹V›] [+R] [+R]DL] [+RW]
During recording
Press [¥ REC] on the main unit to select the recording
time.
The unit’s display changes as shown below.
This does not work during timer recordings (12) or while using
Flexible Recording (
below).
If you change the channel or recording mode while recording is
paused, the time specified to stop recording is cancelled.
The unit turns off automatically after the time to stop recording is
reached.
To cancel
Press [
¥
REC] on the main unit several times until the counter appears.
The time to stop recording is cancelled; however, recording
continues.
To stop recording partway
Press [].
[RAM] [-R] [-R]DL] [-RW‹V›] [+R] [+R]DL] [+RW]
The unit sets the best possible picture quality that fits the recording
within the remaining disc space. The recording mode becomes FR
mode. Refer to “FR (Flexible Recording)” (9).
Preparation
Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate this unit.
Press [DVD] to select the DVD drive.
Press [WXCH] to select the channel or press [INPUT] to select
the external input (AV1, AV2, AV3 or DV) to record.
1 While stopped
Press [FUNCTIONS].
2 Press [3, 4] to select “To Others”
and press [ENTER].
3 Press [3, 4] to select “Flexible Rec”
and press [ENTER].
4 Press [2, 1] to select “Hour” and
“Min.” and press [3, 4] to set the
recording time.
You can also set the recording time with the numbered buttons.
You cannot record for more than 8 hours.
5 When you want to start recording
Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to select “Start”
and press [ENTER].
Recording starts.
To exit the screen without recording
Press [RETURN].
To stop recording partway
Press [].
To show the remaining time
Press [STATUS].
[Note]
When performing EXT LINK recording (15), the flexible recording
function does not work.
[RAM]
Press [1] (PLAY) during recording.
There is no sound output while searching forward or backward.
To stop play
Press [].
To stop recording
1 Press [] to stop playing.
2 Press [] (after 2 seconds).
To stop timer recording
1 Press [] to stop playing.
2 Press [] (after 2 seconds).
3 Press [2, 1] to select “Stop Recording” and press [ENTER].
1 Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR] during
recording.
2 Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to select a title
and press [ENTER].
To stop play
Press [].
To exit the Direct Navigator screen
Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR].
To stop recording
1 Press [] to stop playing.
2 Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR] to exit screen.
3 Press [].
To stop timer recording
1 Press [] to stop playing.
2 Press [DIRECT NAVIGATOR] to exit screen.
3 Press [].
4 Press [2, 1] to select “Stop Recording” and press [ENTER].
You can watch and listen to other content during recording.
Pictures being recorded are unaffected.
Television (Setup Guide 7)
During recording
1 Press [TV] to switch the remote control to operate the television.
2 (Point the remote control at the television)
Press [INPUT] and press [WXCH] to select the channel.
If your television is connected to this unit’s AUX terminal (42), you
can enjoy television broadcast with this unit’s speakers.
3 Press [AUX] to select “AUX”.
4 Adjust the volume on this unit.
Radio (32)
During recording
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate this unit.
2 Press [FM/AM] to select “FM” or “AM”.
3 Press the numbered buttons or [WXCH] to select the radio
channel.
4 Adjust the volume on this unit.
Music port (42)
During recording
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate this unit.
2 Press [MUSIC P.] to select “F MUSICP”.
3 Adjust the external device volume to a normal listening level, and
then adjust the volume of the main unit with [ijVOLUME].
[Note]
When you want to operate the DVD drive again
1 Press [THEATER] to switch the remote control to operate this unit.
2 Press [DVD] to select the DVD drive.
