5.6 Confirmation of private IP address

Private IP address is the network ID which is not used on the Internet. It is classified into

Class A, Class B and Class C shown in the following table. Please set the IP address in

the range of the number specified in the class meeting to your local network scale.

Confirming IP addresses of the PC on the network using the MS-DOS

1. Click [Start] [Program] [MS-DOS Prompt] MS-DOS Prompt window

opens (Windows 98).

These steps are slightly different depending on the OS.

2. Enter ipconfig /all Push [Enter]. Subnet Mask and IP addresses of the PC,

Default Gateway and DNS Servers appear on the window.
