Increasing and decreasing recipes
The best way to convert a famiOy favourite
dish is to Ànd a simiOar recipe in a cookery
book to give you a guide to the correct
method and timings to use.
Many cookbooks refer to 50 : ovens,
however since 10 oven output powers
have been set by a new standard ,E&.
:hen using other cookbooks, the 00 :
output power of your oven must be aOOowed

Start by cooking for one Tuarter of the
recommended cooking time, aOthough
e[tra time in most cases wiOO be
reTuired.
AOways check the food during cooking.
There is not a great saving for reduced
Tuantities of soups, casseroOes, stews
and rice, as a minimum time is reTuired
to tenderise meats and bOend Áavours.
:hen cooking for one it often makes
sense to cook for two and pOate up both
meaOs. Freeze one meaO for a Oater date.
